Carlo Magini c.s.e.

Carlo Magini is the Principal Designer for Magica Building Design Pty Ltd, designing and overseeing all aspects of each project undertaken. Carlo has had an extensive career in all aspects of the building industry and continues to strive for excellence in this, his chosen field.

Carlo began his career with BHP, Port Kembla, where he completed an Associate Diploma in Structural Engineering. In his six years with the BHP, Carlo gained experience in various positions including contract administration, crane inspection, maintenance supervision and ultimately in BHP’s Design Department.

Carlo moved to the Sunshine Coast in 1983 where he began working as a Draftsman, building his first home in 1985 as an owner builder. Carlo established Carlo Magini Design in 1990, and has subsequently obtained a Building Designer’s license (1995), a builder’s license (1996), and has been a member of the Building Designers Association of Queensland since 1991.

Carlo Magini Designs has won numerous awards for building designs, nominated by his peers, builders and clientele.  Carlo designed and built several projects of his own, from renovating and extending a 1950’s Bungalow to designing and building a prestige home in Buderim.

Karen Kerslake

Karen has been working for Magica Building Design Pty Ltd for many years. She is responsible for the day to day running of the office as well as handling all the bookwork and administration for the firm. Through her efforts she ensures that the office runs smoothly allowing the architectural staff to concentrate on design, consultant and client liason duties.

Karen, however, has another skill which she brings to the office. With many years experience as an interior design consultant, working for various Sunshine Coast builders, she is a a valuable member of the architectural team giving expert and friendly advice to clients, if required, to help them achieve the best possible results.

Karen was instrumental in achieving a better than expected result during the refurbishments of both the main foyer as well as three floors of the Sunshine Coast Council’s main offices in the Eddie De Vere Building, Nambour – a project recently designed and co ordinated by Magica Building Design Pty Ltd.
